MSc 1979 Jagiellonian University; Ph.D 1987 Jagiellonian University. Principal expertise is in nutrient chemistry of different types of water bodies; distribution of organic matter,: particulate organic matter in streams, caves and lakes in High Tatra Mountains; decomposition of allochthonous organic matter in mountain streams and caves; acidification processes of high mountain lakes - lake water and precipitation macrochemistry. Current research projects include: Ecological characteristics of small high mountain water bodies of the High Tatra and Western Tatra Mountains. Transport and deposition of organic matter in a high mountain stream (EC - MOLAR).

Tasks:

IFB-PAS is responsible for field sampling in the Polish Tatra lakes. Atmospheric deposition and water chemistry analyses are undertaken as will the analysis of invertebrates and diatoms. Long-term datasets of meteorological and limnological parameters from the Dlugi chain of lakes are continued and contributed to the EMERGE database.
